What is an Active Optical 8K HDMI Cable?
Active Optical HDMI Cables use fibre optic technology to transmit the signal with light pulses rather than electricity. Active Optical Cables are capable of transmitting signals over longer runs than standard hdmi or active hdmi cables and tend to be thinner and lighter. Certified Ultra High Speed cables also have the ability to transmit 8K signals and extremely high speeds up to 48Gbps. These cables are recommended for use when very long runs are required or if high resolutions are needed. Using an Active Optical HDMI Cable can reduce the chance of signal drop out or degradation, and maximise colour depth, particularly when transmitting extremely high resolutions such as 8K.
